About Me
About Me
I started my bodywork journey in 2000, following redundancy from a high-pressure office career. Scary, yes, but I've never looked back! I trained first in standard 'Swedish' massage, alongside the necessary (and fascinating) Anatomy & Physiology, qualifying in 2001 and going on to study Aromatherapy in 2002. Since then, I've built a great little business, with wonderfully loyal clients, some of whom I have been treating regularly since day one. I've gone on to study all sorts of massage modalities and tools, mainly as short courses and day-schools, and including topics such as Postural Analysis, Shoulder Anatomy, Soft Tissue Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Seated On-Site Massage, and most recently, Myofascial Release Techniques, an approach which is fast revolutionising the world of massage therapy.
My approach to bodywork is pragmatic: you will probably have contacted BodyHarmonies Massage & Aromatherapy because you have a structural/physical or emotional/stress problem, or you just want a regular time to really relax - no phones or interruptions, just you-time. We decide, after some discussion, what is going to suit you best. It may start with a course of 3 Myofascial Release sessions (great if you don't particularly like oil) or you may feel that a more classic Aromatherapy Massage is for you - again, it can be a few fairly close together, spreading out the time interval until we find the optimum frequency to maintain mobility and comfort, just dealing with any niggles along the way. Or you may really dislike aromatherapy oils, in which case a plain 'unflavoured' oil is fine. Or you want to add a facial to the massage.... it is your time!
I work from a spacious ground floor room in a peaceful, rural setting in Elstead - it's a real oasis of calm in a turbulent world (except when Russell the Pheasant taps on the French windows!).
If you are housebound, I can travel to you within about a 10 mile /15min radius (additional charge applies)
